IPL Photo-facial

At the time of initial consultation, we do a digital Skin analysis to see the extent of sun damage and determine if you are a good candidate for IPL. We also like to do a small test patch and wait for 48 hours to see the reaction of the skin before we proceed to do the entire area.

IPL Photo-facial is the choice of treatment to erase sun damage including Face, Neck, Chest, Back, Hands, Arms, Legs, and Feet.

With minimum to practically no downtime, you can keep the treatments as discreet as you wish. You will see a dramatic reduction of photodamage and enhancement in collagen.

IPL Photo-facials being non-invasive procedures there is practically very little recovery time. Typically, most people experience a mild, sunburn-like sensation, possibly accompanied by some minor swelling immediately following the treatment. This generally lasts from anywhere between a couple of hours to twenty-four hours.

Treated pigmented lesions may appear a bit darker initially and would slough off in the next few days revealing clearer skin.

The other possible side effects may include hypo or hyperpigmentation which is extremely rare but not permanent.

Does it hurt? There is discomfort associated with the treatment. Each pulse of the IPL feels like an elastic band snapping against the skin to make the treatment more comfortable the laser is equipped with a chilling tip that cools the skin prior to treatment.

We recommend a series of 4-6 IPL Photo-facials to see significant long term improvement, however, our skin is continually aging thus to maintain the results follow up treatments are required.

Tanning or unprotected sun exposure should be avoided as it causes the breakdown of collagen. Proper home care and a broad spectrum SPF 30 should be applied throughout the year.
